Sam Armytage offers a rare glimpse into her love life — and her carefully chosen words say plenty

Sam Armytage arrived at the 2026 TV WEEK Logies looking every inch the television star, but it was what she didn’t reveal that may have been the most intriguing part of her night.

With a return to breakfast television still uncertain, a new season of The Golden Bachelor ahead and a milestone birthday approaching, the 49-year-old broadcaster appears to be entering a new chapter — one she is keeping deliberately open-ended.

A glamorous return to the spotlight

Sam turned heads on the Logies red carpet in a plunging bronze jumpsuit, with her blonde hair worn loose as she spoke with TV WEEK about what lies ahead.

The veteran presenter has recently returned to the Today studio as a fill-in presenter, but she was careful not to describe it as a permanent comeback.

“I’m not back on breakfast TV, I’m just filling in,” Sam said.

She admitted she has enjoyed being back in the early-morning environment and remains fond of the people and energy that come with breakfast television.

“I love breakfast TV, it’s always fun,” she said. “I’ve always loved it.”

But when it comes to what happens next, Sam isn’t giving much away.

“Watch this space”

Asked whether she could see herself returning to breakfast television for a longer stint, Sam offered a teasing response.

“Watch this space,” she said.

She also acknowledged that returning to the early-morning schedule would be a major commitment.

“I’d have to think about it. It’s a lot. It’s tough hours, it would be a lot of attention.”

For now, she appears happy to leave the door open rather than make any firm promises.

And that uncertainty could make the next stage of her television career particularly interesting.

Her next television chapter is already taking shape

While her future on Today remains unclear, Sam already has another major television role waiting for her.

She is preparing to return as host of season two of The Golden Bachelor later this year.

The dating series will once again put romance at the centre of her professional life — which naturally led to a question about whether there might be some romance in Sam’s own life.

Her answer was playful, but deliberately elusive.

“There’s lots of love around me,” she said, before adding with a laugh: “No one I’m prepared to talk about with you!”

“I’m in a really happy place”

Sam has kept her personal life largely private since separating from her husband, Richard Lavender, in late 2024 after four years of marriage.

Rather than offering details about whether someone new has entered her life, she focused on something broader: how happy she feels about where she is now.

“Life is good, I’m in a really happy place and there’s so many opportunities. I’m really loving life at the moment.”

It was perhaps the clearest indication that Sam isn’t looking backwards.

Instead, she appears to be embracing whatever comes next — whether that means more breakfast television, another chapter of The Golden Bachelor, or something completely unexpected.

A new decade, a new outlook

Sam is also preparing to celebrate a significant personal milestone.

She turns 50 next month, and rather than approaching the milestone with hesitation, she described herself as feeling more confident and settled than ever.

“I feel like I’m really hitting my straps,” she said.

“This is a good time for me, so watch this space.”

Her final message was simple: “Life is fun. It should be fun and it is.”

And perhaps that’s the most revealing thing Sam Armytage said all night.

At a time when both her career and personal life are entering new territory, she doesn’t appear to have all the answers yet — and, for once, she seems perfectly comfortable letting the future unfold.
