VL.AU-“I’ve Never Said Never!”: Carrie Bickmore Finally Breaks Her Silence on a Shocking Return to National Television!

“I’ve never said never”: Carrie Bickmore drops a telling hint about her next TV move

Carrie Bickmore has spent the past few years deliberately keeping her television future open.

But after appearing on the TV WEEK Logies red carpet, the beloved Australian presenter has once again fuelled speculation that her return to television could be closer than anyone thought.

And there is one particular Seven show that makes the timing especially interesting.

A leopard-print clue?

Carrie certainly looked the part at this year’s Logies, arriving in a striking leopard-print gown.

For eagle-eyed fans, the outfit sparked an amusing question: could Carrie be hinting at a potential role on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!?

It sounds far-fetched at first.

But the timing makes the possibility rather intriguing.

Channel Seven has recently secured the rights to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! from Network 10, giving the network the chance to put its own stamp on the popular reality series.

And Carrie could be exactly the kind of familiar face Seven would want for such a relaunch.

Then Carrie said something that changed the conversation

Asked about her television future on the Logies red carpet, Carrie didn’t shut the door.

Far from it.

“I have never said never to anything,” the 45-year-old told TV WEEK.

But there was more behind that answer.

Carrie explained that she had deliberately said no to most television opportunities over the past few years because she wanted to work out what she actually wanted to do next.

Rather than rushing back simply because an opportunity appeared, she wanted to make sure the next move felt right.

“I could have very quickly said yes to something and just got back on the horse,” she explained.

That decision may now be about to change.

She never really left the camera behind

Carrie stepped away from The Project in 2022, but she says life behind the microphone hasn’t exactly meant life away from the camera.

Her daily radio show Carrie & Tommy, which she hosts with comedian Tommy Little, regularly produces filmed segments that appear across social media.

As a result, Carrie says she is “weirdly” on camera almost as much as she was during her traditional television career.

“So, I’ve never really thought about the fact that I’ve left television, even though I know I have,” she said.

But she did make one thing clear:

She intends to do more.

The only question is where.

“I will do more of something. I just don’t know what medium it will be on.”

Could I’m A Celebrity be the answer?

This is where the speculation becomes particularly interesting.

Seven has taken over I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, while Carrie already has a connection to the wider Seven/Southern Cross AUSTEREO world through her radio career.

That makes a potential television comeback through the jungle format an intriguing possibility.

There is, however, no confirmation that Carrie has signed on to the show.

For now, it remains speculation based on the timing, her comments and the fact that she has refused to rule out a return.

And then there’s the co-host question

If Carrie were to join the new-look I’m A Celebrity, the obvious question would be: who would stand beside her?

One possibility would be Dr Chris Brown, who previously co-hosted the series and is now part of Seven’s talent line-up.

But Carrie herself gave another clue about what she would want from any future television role.

She made it clear that she loves working alongside other people — something she has clearly enjoyed with Tommy Little.

“I just love working with people,” she said.

“That’s what makes the day fun.”

And a solo hosting role?

Carrie was very clear.

“I would hate to sit and talk to myself in a studio. Nothing appeals to me less.”

The comeback Carrie isn’t quite confirming

Carrie has spent four years carefully choosing what comes next rather than simply returning to television for the sake of it.

Now, her latest comments suggest that the wait may finally be coming to an end.

She has not confirmed I’m A Celebrity.

She hasn’t revealed a new television project.

But when a presenter who has spent years saying “no” suddenly says “I’ve never said never”, it is hard not to wonder whether something is already taking shape behind the scenes.

And if Seven really is preparing a new chapter for I’m A Celebrity, Carrie Bickmore may just be the kind of familiar face capable of making it feel like a major television event.
