MKR’s Lucy Fires Back at Jane in Unaired Showdown as Hidden Apology Revealed

This season of My Kitchen Rules has served up plenty of drama alongside its mouth-watering dishes, but according to the contestants, some of the most explosive moments never made it to air.
And now, mother-daughter duo Lucy and Krysten have lifted the lid on one particularly fiery exchange involving Jane that viewers never got to see.
Get ready, because this behind-the-scenes tea is piping hot!
Early in the season, Jane and Shane quickly established themselves as one of the more controversial teams, clashing with their fellow contestants over their blunt critiques and frosty attitudes.
One of the most memorable confrontations involved Jane taking aim at Lucy, labelling her “naive”.
However, speaking exclusively to Chattr, Lucy has revealed that she didn’t simply let the comment slide. In fact, she fired back at Jane in a moment that was left on the cutting-room floor.
“When Jane calls me naive, I actually asked her what she means by that and she just completely fumbles and doesn’t know what to say,” Lucy revealed.
“It comes across as if she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. I’m surprised they didn’t put it in.”
Jane’s Apology to Lucy Was Also Left on the Cutting-Room Floor

The confrontation apparently had enough of an impact that Jane approached Lucy the following evening at Tiffany and Giancarlo’s Instant Restaurant to apologise for her remark.
But in another surprising twist, that moment was also omitted from the final episode.
“She actually apologised to me in front of the whole table for that comment, which wasn’t shown either,” Lucy added.
Despite being surprised that such a dramatic exchange never made it to television, Lucy and Krysten said they believed the other contestants had been portrayed fairly throughout the season.
“That’s how everyone was when we went through the whole experience. I feel like they’re being portrayed exactly how they are on TV as well,” Lucy told Chattr.
Krysten agreed, suggesting that viewers weren’t necessarily getting a misleading picture of what happened behind the scenes.
“There’s a lot of internet chatter about how people are edited, but honestly, everyone is coming across exactly as they were at the table,” she said.
“What you see is what you get.”
Alisha and Deanne Also Weigh In on Jane’s Editing Claims

Lucy and Krysten aren’t the only contestants who have questioned the idea that Jane was unfairly portrayed on the show.
Alisha and Deanne shared a similar view when speaking exclusively to Chattr, pushing back against Jane’s suggestion that editing had played a significant role in how she came across to viewers.
“She played the ‘poor me, pity me’ [card], like all this is edited stuff,” Alisha said.
“I just said to them, ‘Look, there’s no such thing as a bad edit. You did say it, so own up to it. If you’re going to be an unapologetic, opinionated person, well, then own it’.”
With tensions continuing to simmer between the contestants, there’s clearly been plenty happening around the dinner table that viewers haven’t witnessed.
And tonight, the spotlight turns to Jane and Shane as they finally step into the kitchen for their own Instant Restaurant challenge. Given their eventful run so far, it’s shaping up to be an episode worth watching.
My Kitchen Rules airs on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
