Could we be any more excited for Farmer Wants A Wife starting? After a longer wait than usual (two months overdue, to be exact), fans can finally get their dose of wholesome farmer goodness this week – and the anticipation is palpable.

However, a common complaint has popped up like clockwork at the start of the season, with fans questioning whether the five farmers (Alex, Zac, Dylan, Jason and Jarrad) who are putting themselves out there in search of love are actually real farmers… or simply stand-in actors.

Or better yet, male models.

To get ahead of the complaints, which have now predictably flooded social media, WHO decided to ask this season’s farmers if they are, indeed, farmers.

Farmer Zac used it as an opportunity to cheekily throw shade at another young farmer in the line-up.

And, we’re lapping up the friendly competitiveness.

Common complaint plaguing Farmer Wants A Wife’s premiere

Farmer Wants A Wife fans have been questioning whether the men looking for love are actually farmers as the show promises, since they are all very handsome and kind.

Apparently, farmers can’t be good-looking?

“Please, please make sure they are actually farmers,” one fan wrote online this week ahead of the premiere.

“I read today that one of the farmers is acting, [and] he is not a farmer,” another claimed, while another suggested there’s no way the five men are working farmers as they’re all “too good to be true” off the back of their promo videos.

Despite it being a constant complaint of fans every season, there has never been any merit to the accusations, with farmers from every season being exactly that — farmers.

However, there has been notable deceptions around filming locations, rather than contestants.

Producers have been called out for using stunt properties in previous seasons, with filming taking place in locations that weren’t actually the contestants’ farms.

Channel Seven admitted to filming a date 750 kilometres away from Will Simpson’s farm in Berriwillock, Victoria, despite his farm being located in NSW.

This occurred during season 12, which aired in 2022.

Zac’s five word sting to fellow farmer Dylan as he refutes rumour

While all the farmers refuted the claims that they were anyone but who they say they are, Zac decided to highlight the silliness of the rumour by taking a swipe at his fellow farmer Dylan, with the pair both the youngest in this year’s line-up, aged 24.

He insinuated that the rumour that the farmers are actually male models falls apart because Dylan doesn’t fit that brief.

“Oh, I mean, have you seen Dylan? Definitely brings the standard down,” he joked to WHO.

The others simply laughed off the rumours when asked to respond, while Dylan was very sweet about the suggestion, saying he was “stoked” to be mistaken for a model.

We’re with you, Dylan.
