Kyle Sandilands has opened up about his financial position following the sudden end of his KIIS FM breakfast show with longtime co-host Jackie “O” Henderson.

Speaking on The Karl Stefanovic Show, the broadcaster admitted he had been bracing for a difficult conversation with his bank. Instead, the response he received was very different from what he had expected.

The bank call Kyle had been dreading

Sandilands said he had always assumed financial institutions would become less supportive when their customers were facing uncertainty.

However, when the call finally arrived, he was surprised by how understanding the bank appeared to be.

“The bank call was refreshingly surprising, they couldn’t have been better,” he told Karl Stefanovic.

According to Sandilands, the experience challenged his previous belief that banks would increase the pressure on someone during the most difficult moment of their career.

Friends stepped forward with unexpected offers

The 55-year-old also revealed that several close friends had contacted him after his radio departure and offered substantial financial assistance.

Some reportedly asked whether he needed as much as $1 million to help him through the transition.

Sandilands said he appreciated their generosity but declined the offers, insisting his position was not as desperate as some people may have assumed.

A long-term plan suddenly disrupted

Although Sandilands is known for displaying his wealth publicly, he explained that much of his money is tied up in investments rather than readily available as cash.

He said he and his family hold property, company shares and other assets as part of a carefully developed investment portfolio.

However, shortly before losing his radio role, Sandilands had committed around $3 million to renovating holiday properties and another major project in the mountains.

Those expenses were part of a ten-year financial plan that had only been underway for about a year when his regular income was suddenly interrupted.

Questions remain over the KIIS FM departure

Sandilands admitted he still does not fully understand why his breakfast show came to an end.

He suggested the decision had caused the long-term plan he had built around his radio career to fall apart far earlier than expected.

The broadcaster also said he would not discuss the matter with Jackie O until her ongoing court proceedings had concluded.

A different reality after losing his job

Despite the uncertainty, Sandilands said losing the program had not affected him as badly as he once feared it might.

He acknowledged that some critics had celebrated the end of the show, but said he was no longer interested in allowing their reactions to control how he viewed the situation.

Instead, he appeared focused on adjusting his finances and reconsidering the plans he had made for the coming decade.

Disturbing messages raised further concerns

During the conversation, Sandilands also claimed he had received threatening letters warning him against appearing on other platforms.

While he described the people behind the messages as irrational, he admitted the situation had left him questioning how seriously the threats should be taken.

The revelations offered a rare glimpse into the financial and personal consequences of his departure — and the unexpected support he received when he believed the pressure would be at its greatest.
