Barr was showing her followers a new baby blue cardigan when part of her phone’s photo library briefly appeared on screen. Among the images was a picture of her former Sunrise colleague Samantha Armytage seated behind the Today desk.
The small detail quickly attracted attention, arriving only days after Armytage made her debut on Nine’s breakfast program.

Barr’s original Instagram Story appeared to reveal more than she had intended while she filmed the new addition to her wardrobe.
According to The Australian, the Sunrise presenter soon removed the clip and uploaded a replacement version in which the image of Armytage had been cropped out.
Although the post may simply have captured a saved image in Barr’s camera roll, its timing gave the moment an intriguing edge as Sunrise and Today continue competing for breakfast television viewers.
Former Sunrise colleagues now on rival networks
Barr and Armytage worked together on Sunrise for almost eight years, from June 2013 until Armytage left the Seven program in March 2021.
Barr subsequently became Sunrise’s main co-host alongside David Koch before Matt Shirvington joined the program following Koch’s departure.
Armytage has now appeared on the rival Today show, initially sharing the hosting desk with veteran journalist Michael Willesee Jr.
Her arrival has attracted considerable attention as Nine continues experimenting with different combinations while Sarah Abo is on maternity leave.
