For the Married At First Sight couples who made it through the final Commitment Ceremony, the final dates were all about toasting to the experiment and looking at how far they had come.
For some, this year’s dates were the romantic day of their dreams, but for others … well, it ended in a break-up.

It had been a rough couple of weeks for the experiment’s former self-described “power couple”, culminating in a plan to leave the experiment together.
But before they went, Scott organised a final date – and told Gia he actually wanted to stay the final two days and finish it together.
This derailed the date before it even began, with Scott forced to chase Gia down the street while she fled.

Gia was fuming over his switch-up.
“I’m leaving the experiment and if you’re not coming with me, then let’s break up now,” she said.
“You need the camera time so bad for the next three days, don’t you?”
Obviously, Scott denied that was the case!

Cameras caught them as they continued to fight on the street.
“I just want to go home to see my child and my mum, to be out of here, out of this fake reality,” she continued.
Meanwhile, Scott was begging her to “stop”.
“I don’t want you to go,” he said as she walked towards an Uber.

Just like that, she hopped in the car and was gone, leaving Scott in disbelief on the side of the road.
However, it wasn’t the last he heard from her…

While Scott sat alone in the place he’d arranged their date, wondering what the heck had just happened, Gia called and once again asked him to leave.
“Will you leave with me? Or if that’s not happening, then I will go to the airport right now and leave the experiment,” she said.
“It’s not happening, because I just wanted to finish with you,” Scott replied.
“OK, all the best, Scott,” she said, hanging up.

The emotional groom told production he was “letting her go”, before breaking down in tears.
Scott told cameras he felt completely defeated and like his “heart’s been ripped out of [his] chest”.
“I just don’t think I deserve a phone call giving me an ultimatum to just leave this experiment,” he said.

To make matters worse, Scott eventually returned to their apartment to discover just how serious Gia was about being “done”.
In fact, she’d left her wedding ring on the kitchen counter.
“I’m just speechless,” he reacted.

Gia and Scott’s final date may have been a disaster, but thankfully we could always count on Stella and Filip for some romance!
Filip arranged a day out on the water, where they once again cemented how strong their relationship was.
“I could never comprehend ‘when you know you know’,” Stella told cameras.
“It is a thing. When you know you know.”

At the final Commitment Ceremony, Stella and Filip revealed they’d finalised their post-experiment plan – Filip was moving in!
Stella took the final date as an opportunity to make that even more official, gifting him a house key.
“It means a lot, that’s a lot of trust there,” Filip said.

The key meant the world to Filip.
“I know 100 per cent that she’s locked in.
“That’s exactly what I needed to see at this point in the experiment to feel like I can move everything over and make the move.”
They both knew they were fully locked in – pun intended!
“We are it, we’re going the distance,” Stella beamed.

What better way to wrap up Rachel and Steven’s rollercoaster experiment than with an actual theme park?
For their final date, Steven organised a day out that was right up Rachel’s alley – Luna Park!

From adrenaline-pumping rides to fishing games, there was something for both of them.
Steven said he was very scared in this moment – but we (and Rachel) certainly couldn’t tell!

Steven ended the date with a surprise to show just how much he cared.
After overhearing Rachel tell his dad about starting a vinyl collection, and knowing she was a big Swiftie, he gave her the perfect gift – Taylor Swift’s latest record.
“It was the best day,” Rachel said.
“Our relationship is hitting this really great strong point where we are starting to roll off into the sunset if you will. I’m very happy!”
