Who’s moving where? Which couples will last beyond the experiment?
Homestays Week hopes to dive into those questions and more as couples get a taste of what life could look like outside of MAFS.
The pairs packed their bags and headed to their homes across the country, where they faced everything from protective friends and huge decisions to make.

Rachel and Steven head to the Central Coast
Rachel and Steven visit Steven’s parents’ holiday home on the Central Coast.
He was excited to take her fishing, and the fact she even caught a fish was the best thing Steven had seen.
Steven took Rachel out for lunch the next day before revealing their post-experiment plans…
Steven expresses his feelings to Rachel
At a romantic lunch, Steven blurted out his feelings to Rachel.
“I like where this relationship is going and I like you, and if it keeps going in the right direction, I can see myself falling in love with you one day,” he said as he took her hand.

It gave Rachel all the reassurance she could hope for.
“It’s beautiful, it makes me really happy,” she told cameras. “It makes me really excited about moving to Sydney and being a part of his life.
“Holy shit this is real,” she laughed.
Meeting Steven’s family sealed the deal as they confirmed their post-MAFS plans.

The pair will do long distance for about six months, before Rachel moves north to Sydney because her work is more flexible.
She’s fine with it, but Steven felt guilty that she’s the one making all the sacrifices.
Steven’s family were just happy to see how far they’ve come.
Gia visits Scott’s home in Queensland
Gia and Scott touched down on the Gold Coast as the Melbourne-bride imagined life in Scott’s home.
“Oh, it’s a bit messy,” she laughed.
Gia admitted she was looking for problems and found plenty…

From Scott’s décor choices, small walk-in robe and a pink neck pillow that she was convinced belonged to an ex, Gia wasn’t subtle about the changes she would make.
It rubbed Scott the wrong way: “Apparently there’s no positives and that’s the problem”.
Coming from a four-bedroom house with her daughter, Gia’s biggest concern was the lack of space – on top of actual concerns in their relationship.
Gia meets with Scott’s friends
Scott’s friends weren’t exactly #TeamGia just yet.
They felt “pressured” for Scott after hearing Gia was ready to “100 per cent” move to the Gold Coast as soon as the experiment ended.
Scott wanted to wait.
As Gia talked about enrolling her daughter in a new school and wanting “one or two more kids”, snowballed with all the drama in the experiment lately, Scott began to feel the pressure too.
Scott confronts Gia
The groom felt he was “walking on eggshells” worried about how Gia would react.
And when he told Gia, well, she reacted.
“OK, Scott, I didn’t know you wanted to argue today,” she replied.
Now Gia was feeling doubtful about moving in with someone who hasn’t even said ‘I love you’.
“I’m falling for you every day, and I feel like we’re on that path,” Scott said.
“We’ve been on that path for a while,” she replied.
Stella and Filip head south
In Cronulla, south of Sydney, Stella and Filip met Stella’s besties Leila and Joe for lunch.
It didn’t take long for questions about Filip moving to Sydney to come up, which was the big “if” in their relationship.
But if Filip could commit to moving, Stella felt 100 per cent sure of their future together.
Stella and Filip head south
Filip said he was 75 per cent certain. Knowing he would be giving up so much to fit into Stella’s life, he asked for more reassurance and patience, just like he’s given her.
Stella and Filip work things out
The next day, Stella was still overthinking Filip’s “75 percent” answer.
He explained he was100 per cent committed, but 75 per cent sure of how all the logistical “nuts and bolts” would work.
From living arrangements to finding work in a new city, that’s what brought the score down – nothing to do with her as a partner.
“You as a person, you’re pretty much flawless,” he said.
